We're on the road, exploring the beauty of North America, loving all the wonderful people we meet, and enjoying the outdoors along the way.
SOUTH DAKOTA:
In SD, we enjoyed the the natural wonders of the Black Hills and Badlands after driving through endless rolling prairie in the east/central portion of the state .
Badlands National Park—We were pleased to discover the park emptying out as the sun set, lighting up the hills and bluffs in out-of-this-world colors. The night was dark and silent with the stars thick overhead. We were happy to experience this bizarre landscape free from the crowds and mid day heat.
The Black Hills—We avoided the crowds at Mount Rushmore and enjoyed the Black Elk Wilderness, climbing to the states highest point where we were greeted by a family of mountain goats and incredible 360 degree views.
UTAH:
In UT we re-visited our old stomping grounds around Ogden to celebrate the wedding of two wonderful friends. We enjoyed Ogden and the Eden Valley with a great group of people before heading north and into Wyoming.
WYOMING:
Grand Teton National Park—This place is hard to beat! From the Lupine Meadows trailhead, we enjoyed a hike to Surprise and Amphitheater Lake.
